And they’re off!

Albuquerque Academy hosted their first cross country meet of the season on Saturday, March 13th. Four schools participated in the meet: Albuquerque Academy, Cleveland High School, Bosque School, and St. Pius X High School.
Albuquerque Academy senior, Justin Hickey, came in first place in the boys 5K with a time of 16 minutes and 47.3 seconds. Overall, Cleveland boys came in first-place with a combined score of 26, and their top 5 runners coming in 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th place. Academy finished with a close second-place with a combined score of 30 and their top 5 runners coming in 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 11th place. St. Pius finished in third with a combined score of 90 and their top 5 runners coming in 15th, 16th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd place, and Bosque came in last with their only four runners coming in 17th, 18th, 19th, and 23rd place.
On the girls side, Cleveland High sophomore, Leah Futey, came in first place with a time of 20 minutes and 2.2 seconds in the 5K. Overall, Academy came in first place with a combined score of 42, and their top 5 runners coming in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 13th, and 20th place. St. Pius X finished second with a combined score of 45 and their top 5 runners coming in 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, and 17th place. Cleveland finished in third with a combined score of 46 and their top 5 runners coming in 1st, 8th, 11th, 12th, and 14th place, and Bosque came in last with a combined score of 80 and their top 5 runners coming in 9th, 15th, 16th, 18th, and 22nd place.
