This year, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will battle for glory in Super Bowl 59. For the chiefs, a win would mean their third Super Bowl in a row and fourth Super Bowl in six years. For the Eagles, a win would mean their first Super Bowl since 2018 and redemption from the 2023 Super Bowl, two years ago, when Kansas City beat them by just three points. Both teams want to win, but who will come out on top this year in Super Bowl 59?
Philadelphia:
The Eagles have had what can be described as no less than a phenomenal season. Basically every game has been amazing, even the few that they have lost. This is mostly due to the extraordinary offense led by star running back Saquan Barkley. Barkley was just traded to the Eagles this season, and in his first season he ran for over 2,000 yards, a feat that has only been accomplished by eight other running backs. The thing that makes the offense so deadly is that even if a team can stop Saquan Barkley, the Eagles have two of the top wide receivers in the nation: A. J. Brown and Devonta Smith. And even more, they have quarterback Jalen Hurts who if he can beat you throwing the ball will just run the ball himself. This is what makes this offense basically unstoppable and easily the hardest task the Chiefs are going to have to face all season.
Kansas City:
This year has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for the Chiefs despite their impressive 15-2 season. The Chiefs started off the season 9-0, but it wasn’t pretty. Of those nine games, seven were one-score victories, and of the next six wins, four were one-score victories. The Chiefs play has been better in the playoffs, but the talent on their team just doesn’t stack up to that of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs are outmanned and outgunned, and yet they still have a chance. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is possibly the best closer of all time, and if history has shown us anything, it is that he rises to the occasion, no matter the situation. Because of him, you just can’t count the Chiefs out.
So there it is. Both teams are great and both have the capability to win but, who is going to do it? The Eagles are the better team, but it is hard to bet against Mahomes. Time and again the Chiefs have been the worse team, and time and again Mahomes has carried them to victory. This is why I am going to have to go with the Chiefs. If the game gets tight towards the end, which it most likely will as it is the biggest game of the year, the Chiefs, led by the unfashionable but practical Patrick Mahomes, have the edge. But no matter who wins and what happens, it will be an amazing game that will surely make its way into the history books.
