Seniors
Darin Eberhardt proudly proclaims himself a student at Albuquerque Academy. He is the Senate’s primary note taker and serves on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. His favorite classes are History and Humanities. He plays tennis and enjoys watching soccer. He used to play saxophone, but now he spends more time at Speech and Debate, the Advocate, Read to Excel, and Middle East Coalition. Darin’s favorite fruit is cantaloupe.
Liam Mattox serves on the Environmental and Student Life Committees. His favorite class is AP European History. He skis, mountain bikes, and participates in Science Olympiad. His favorite color is green, and his favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip. One fun fact about Liam is that he owns a Great Dane and two cats.
Maya Macias is the President of Student Senate. Her favorite classes are History and English. She runs cross country, and she helps organize the Student Wellness Advisory Board (SWAB) and Read to Excel. Maya’s favorite color is green, and she has a dog named Pelé, after the late Brazilian soccer player.
Theo Gallant is the Vice President of Student Senate. His favorite class is math. He enjoys hiking and plays guitar, ukulele, bass, banjo, and drums. His most important extracurricular activity is guitar quartet, and he is also a math tutor and Philosophy Club member. Theo’s favorite color is green, and his favorite season is fall.
Will Fetz serves on the Environmental and School Life Committees. His favorite class this year is AP Environmental Science. He runs Cross Country and Track & Field, and he plays trombone in the jazz band. After school, Will studies for Science Olympiad. His favorite font is Ubuntu, and a fun fact about him is that he is a published aviation photographer.
Juniors
Aarush Tutiki is on the Environmental and School Life Committees. His favorite class is math, and he plays piano on the side. He participates in Speech and Debate after school. His favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate. Aarush doesn’t currently play any sports, but he has hiked Wheeler Peak twice.
Anagha Devarakonda is a member of the Environmental and School Life Committees. Her favorite class this year is Anatomy & Physiology. She plays piano and dances Indian classical. Outside of Senate, she participates in Speech and Debate, HOSA, Science Olympiad, South Asian Affinity Group (SAAG), and the Advocate. Anagha’s favorite color is purple, and her favorite place in the world is her Grandparents’ house in Kakinada.
Gavin Mitchell works on the Environmental and School Life Committees. His favorite class this year is Organic Chemistry. He plays viola in orchestra and takes private harpsichord lessons outside of school. He enjoys running cross country. This year, he is a member of the Secret Courtyard Society and participates in Best Buddies, Model UN, Youth and Government, Science Bowl, and Science Olympiad. Gavin’s favorite flavor of baked goods is pumpkin spice.
Maaz Aamer runs the Senate’s Notice Board in Brown Hall, and he primarily works on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. His favorite classes are English and Ceramics, and he competes in powerlifting as well as taekwondo outside of school. Maaz is part of Classics Club, Philosophy Club, Middle East Coalition, and Speech and Debate. His favorite season is winter because it has better outfit opportunities and “just great vibes in general.” At any given time, you might find Maaz talking about the latest car releases or drowning his post-test sorrows in chocolate milk.
Sophomores
Chiara Padilla serves on the Environmental and Student Life Committees. Her favorite class is English. She runs Cross Country and Track & Field, and she plays the cello. She participates in HOSA, Secret Courtyard Society, and Bible Club. Chiara’s favorite color is pink, and something you may not know about her is that she has a twin sister.
Hayden Wagner is a member of the Environmental and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees. Her favorite class is Math. She can play a bit of guitar, and she is involved in Theater and Mock Trial. Hayden’s favorite color is gray.
Jack Alford serves on the School Life and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees. His favorite class this year is Internet of Things Automation (IoTA). He plays roundnet, pickleball, badminton, and piano. Jack is involved in Rocket Club and Engineering Club; his favorite dessert is chocolate cheesecake; and he enjoys mountain biking on the weekends.
Katherine Xie works on the School Life and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees. Her favorite class is English. She enjoys volleyball and has been playing the piano for 11 years. Her main extracurriculars are HOSA, Speech and Debate, and Science Olympiad. Katherine’s favorite color is blue, and she loves listening to music.
