The Advocate would like to periodically recognize students in the 10-12 division for their extraordinary achievements on campus or outside the Academy community. This week, The Advocate salutes the following:
Kayden Kelly ‘25: On October 6 in Cincinnati, Kayden, a remarkable pianist, performed a challenging Liszt concerto alongside many talented musicians of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. A few months prior to this wonderful experience, Kayden earned 1st place in his age division in the Nina Simone Piano Competition, allowing him this opportunity to perform in Cincinnati; he also received a monetary reward.
“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the enthusiastic standing ovation from the Cincinnati audience,” said Kayden. “I couldn’t wipe this smile off my face!”
Kayden has played piano since he was five and practices several hours each day. He aspires to be a concert pianist when he grows up.
Kayden’s next performance will be on November 16, which will take place in the Big Apple, the great city of New York.
